2 year old checkup

Well, hard to believe it is already time for Jillian's two year old checkup and her appt. was scheduled on August 31 in the afternoon at 4pm.

We had to wait a while but Jillian busied herself with running in circles in the waiting room and playing with the 13 month old fellow patient, while she waited. Once we got back, they took her measurements.

Height - 33 inches long
Weight - 24.5 lbs
Head Circumference - 18.75

She was in the 20% for height and weight.

She also had her finger pricked, which she did not like. She disliked her bandaid even more and promptly started to remove it. Ba-Ba had the fun task of attempting to keep her from bleeding all over the place while cleaning her up, getting a fresh wet cloth and applying pressure to the finger. After about 30-45 minutes of this, she finally stopped bleeding. The next task was Hep B shot (last one for a long while) and that wasn't as bad as the pricked finger. She got a bandaid, which she also promptly tried to remove, and we were almost ready to go when Da-Da called to check on his girls. We decided to meet and go to Zoe's for dinner as a treat since Jillian's appointment was finally OVER. Not a bad end to an otherwise sorta stressful afternoon!

Week 20 - It's a BOY!!!!!

Week 20 appointment went well. It was confirmed that our soon to be newborn is a HE and Jillian is going to have a little brother. This will be a whole new world for her and for us. No boys on either side of the family since I have a sister (Aunt Ricia) and Da-Da is an only child!

Here are the stats:

*My Blood pressure was 110/70
*I gained 5 lbs since last checkup.
*Baby's heart rate was 143 beats per minute
*HE was measuring 21 weeks at this point (I was actually 20 weeks and 4 days)
*All major organs looked good and in order (heart, brain, spine, femur, arm, stomach,etc)

We could not have asked for a better report on our January addition and feel blessed that things are progressing so nicely! Keep us in your prayers and look for us to start a new blog since it will be Jillian and Baby P's journey moving forward.

New Rain Boots

Bon Bon found these cute Hello Kitty rain boots and gave them to Jillian. Jillian liked them so much that she put them on her feet right there, even though she was sporting his nightgown and ready for bed. It was tons of fun to get them off of her before she went to bed.

Baby Steps 2010

We decided we would attend the Baby Steps 5k Run for the second year in a row and were really looking forward to it. The weather forecast was for rain but we had no idea how much. We got up like normal and got Jillian dressed, then drove to Tannehill, however the rain was coming down so hard that we opted to stay in the car and wait to see if it cleared. Here are a few car pics.









The rain never let up so we just drove to the registration area and got our participant bags with t-shirts and all, then headed to our local IHOP for some breakfast before heading home. Unfortunately, we didn't get to run/walk this year but we will plan on it in 2011.
